Local companies in China make a tablet that is devoted only to be used by local government officials. RedPad named Number One tablet is sold at a price high enough, ie USD 1590 or approximately USD 14.2 million.

Tablet-based Android operating system is equipped with a variety of applications whose function is to help government tasks of the Communist Party of China. According to its maker, Red Pad fairly high price due to the presence of these specific applications.

Quoted by Reuters on Sunday (1/22/2012), among other applications in RedPad can be used to select accrediting journalists, access to government databases and so on. As is known, the Chinese government is very strict control of the media.

Project 9.7-inch tablet gets a lot of criticism from the local community as a waste of budget. Because the price is considered too expensive, far higher than the price of the Apple iPad computer.

RedPad own name was chosen not without reason. Red or red is the color of pride for the Chinese Communist Party.
